Day 16

Work Sucks! Stress at all time high!

Went in to the box to bang out a wod with Bdub!

30 Pullups
50 KBS at 1.5 Pood
1000M Row

took me 7:58

I never was overly winded. My grip was burning after 30 Pullups and 25 KBS. Row went slow.

Bfast: nothing
Lunch: 2 broiled chicken breasts and a chicken leg
Dinner: 2 salads with grilled veges, pork, steak, guac and spicy salsa
Snack: green apple.

Day 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

It has been 5 days since my last post and that is due to the overwhelming stress I have encountered at work! SUCKS!

I have stayed strict paleo over these days and have shown remarkable restraint and great will power! The "cheats" have presented themselves and I have turned them down each and every time!

I have been sticking to pretty much the following paleo plan

Bfast: either nothing but balck coffee or 2 hard boiled eggs no yolk and a black coffee
Lunch: a bag of turkey jerky, buffalo jerky or a salad with turkey or chicken chunks in it
Dinner: any steak, chicken or fish with an assortment of broiled veges

I have been snacking on 15-20 raw organic almonds or cashews

I had 2 apples total for the entire week last week.

Metcons and strength work has gone well BUT there is enormous room for big improvements.

My right shoulder has really been bothering me lately.

I cleaned and jerked 205 pounds yesterday which I was ok with but really want to get to 225 shortly with a 250 pound goal within 6 months.

Going to start working overtime on BS, FS and Jerks! AND as always keeping up the extra work on OHS!!!!

Day 10

My right shoulder is really hurting and needs this rest day big time!

yesterday's performance was weak.

3x MAX kipping pullups + 3x MAX ring pushups with 60 seconds between rounds alternating each. Total was 122 and should be closer to 140-150

WOD was difficult! 5 rounds of 5 FS, 5 Jerk, 5 BS increasing weight each round to get to a MAX weight. The MAX weight counts towards total only if all 5 lifts are completed without putting the bar down. I started at 95 went to 125 then to 135. Round 4 and 5 went to 155 and failed at the Jerks each time. My Jerk technique needs some serious work. I will start working extra on the Jerk once my shoulder feels better after a few days off the shoulder.

Bfast: 2 hard boiled eggs no yolk
Lunch: salad with poached chicken and balsamic vinegar
Dinner: half pound of sliced turkey with a boat load of raw broccoli
Late night snack: pulled pork with tomato, garlic and onions + 3 shrimp with diced onion and tomatoes; I WAS STARVING!

Day 9

Went in to the box yesterday at noon to workout.

OHS went well and definitely improving but still have a way too go!

Metcon:
500M row then 5 rounds of 10 KBS @ 70# and 50 single unders followed by a 400M run.

I gamed the whole thing wat too much and wasn't even tired after the metcon.....SO, i waited 10 minutes and went at the metcon AGAIN with Bdub!

I went all out the second time around and it paid off big time!

1st time - 9:15
2nd time - 8:33

Bfast: NADA
Lunch: 4oz bag of turkey jerky; 15 organic roasted unsalted cashews
Dinner: roasted turkey and roasted acorn squash
10pm Snack: 3oz bag of beef jerky(I was so hungry!)

Day 8

A little hungover this am but feeling good! Going in at noon today to WOD it up!

Yesterday
Bfast: NADA, wasn't feeling good
Lunch: one 4oz bag of buffalo jerky
Dinner: 2 shrimp, one king crab leg, half of crab cake and a monster filet mignon with one asparagus at Hugo's Frog Bar with Fetus, Bdub and Mr. 424!!!!!

Post dinner all 4 of us hit the Blackhawks game! No food was consumed at the UC but a lot of vodka and scotch with water was! Incredible come from behind win by the Hawks! down 2 goals in the 3rd period Hossa had 2 goals to tie it in regulation and Kaner had a wicked opass to Sharpie for the game winner in OT!

Post game food: 4oz of skirt steak

Day 6 + Day 7

First week went well into the weekend. Big test over this weekend as it was my wonderful son, Harrsion's 9th birthday and we went to the Blackhawks game on Saturday night and the Bears game on Sunday afternoon! Paleo was going to be a challenge! The LP box was closed all weekend for a weightlifting seminar so I took the weekend off and did not WOD.

Saturday
Bfast: Nada
Lunch: Birthday party for Harrison DID NOT touch the pizza or cake; went with a large black coffee, that was it.
Dinner: Blackhawks game. I had turkeysandwich no bun no sauce and it was tough watching my son and his friend destroy popcorn, pizza, hot dogs etc.!!!!

Sunday
Bfast: 2 hard boiled eggs no yolk
Lunch: Bears game and this was really tough! I had 3 bloody mary's and finished my kids chicken fingers, burger (did not eat the bun) and hot dog (did not eat the bun); I was dying for a beer and DID suck one down but only one!
Dinner: grilled skirt steak and boneless skinless chicken thighs with broiled broccoli. I caved hard and took my kids to Scooter's and destroyed a CNCFB and left like crap afterwards and through the night with a terrible stomach ache!

Back on the horse this Monday AM!

Day 5

This Day 5! Went into 9am class to WOD it up! Rudy was coaching and had a phenomenal warm-up, got me going, juices were flowing!

On tap was a 2k row - brutal and a mental mind fuck! My previous PR is 7:11; Goal was to be right at 7 minutes flat. My game plan didn't pan out as I wanted it to. I left way too much in the tank. I am usually rolling around on the floor and completely wrecked after a 2k row and today I felt just fine! NOT GOOD!

Pulled a 7:28; what a joke! I decided to do 4x250m sprint rows with 1:30 minute rest in between sets. Kept each sprint under a 1:30 (500m) pace.

Went to OHS work after the rows. 10@95; 10@110; 5@135; 5@135; 5@155(I was stoked!)

On the advice of Rudy, I am starting to do tempo work on my OHS in order to improve my strength.

Diet today was fun and solid!

Bfast: 2 hard boiled eggs (no yolk)
Lunch: "EL" baby! what a great CFC crew. we all had a sushi-paleo lunch at Kamehachi(with vodka on the rocks!) and it was E-Diesel's birthday! SO fun
Dinner: broiled pork chops; zucchini; water, a frickin' lot of water!
